Variety’s Power of Women 2023 honoring Kelly Ripa, Natasha Lyonne and more

Daytime TV icon Kelly Ripa and veteran actress Natacha Lyonne are among those honored at the Variety Women Power event scheduled for April 4 in New York. A press release given to HollywoodLife on March 17 also revealed that the young adult author Judy Blumeactress Rose Perez, and actress/singer Michaela Jae Rodriguez will also be among the winners. Writer/comedian Ego Nwodim of Saturday Night Live fame will host the event, presented by Lifetime, and the winners will appear on the cover of the Power of Women issue, which will be released ahead of the event on March 29.

The annual women’s celebration aims to bestow honors on what they called in their statement, “the best women working in entertainment”. Kelly, 52, a mother of three and New York Times bestselling author, will draw attention to Win (formerly Women In Need). The Live host recently released a short story memoir titled Live Wire: Long-Range Short Stories.

Director, screenwriter, actress and producer Natasha, 43, currently stars in and produces Peacock’s Poker face, and recently appeared in the 2019 Netflix series trippy Russian doll. THE Beverly Hills Slums star will spotlight the Lower Eastside Girls Club. The prolific white men can’t jump Actress Rosie Perez, now a mainstay of Showtime’s Your Honor, is set to spotlight Heart 9/11, a team of volunteer first responders who bonded in the aftermath of the tragic 2001 terrorist attacks.

Judy Blume, a beloved author and a household name for young women around the world, is set to spotlight the National Coalition Against Censorship. She is currently preparing for the release of the film in April 2023 Are you there God? It’s me Margaret which is based on her beloved 1970 novel. She is also the producer of the film, which stars Rachel McAdamsamong others.

Michaela JaƩ Rodriguez is the first trans actress to be nominated in a main category for an Emmy Award and to win a Golden Globe Award for her performance as Blanca in the FX series Laid. She also currently appears in Booty on AppleTV+. She will talk about her involvement with the Rainforest Alliance on the topic of equal rights.

Variety’s Power Of Women event is a landmark event every year, and events take place in New York and Los Angeles. In 2022, winners included Hillary And Chelsea Clinton, Malala Yousafzai, Oprah Winfrey, producer Ava DuVernay, and actress Elizabeth Olsen.
