Grace Caroline Currey is the only actor Shazam! Fury of the gods to both versions of her character Mary Bromfield. The rest of the Shazam! has two different sets of actors playing the younger versions of the characters and their older superhero versions. HollywoodLife spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Grace about tackling both sides of the same character.

“It’s so special to be in charge of Mary’s lifeline, from her human form to her super form,” Grace said. “Not to mention, I have so much love and respect for her from her comic book story and the massive amount of story attached to her. It was definitely a dream come true. I was thrilled. I mean, wearing a superhero costume is the kind of thing you don’t think will happen in your career.
Grace revealed that Mary “didn’t leave the house” when the Shazam! the sequel begins. “She’s in kind of a gap year situation, not to mention she’s a superhero now,” she added. “There is this responsibility to use these powers for good while being the eldest in the family and having a sobering knowledge of what it is to be a human in society and to contribute and to have a job because she no longer receives checks in the mail as an adopted child now that she is over 18 years old.
The film features the Daughters of the Atlas, played by Helen Mirren, lucy liuAnd Rachel Zegler. “Rachel and I became best friends and gained a sister on set. It was such a fun surprise for me. I had no idea I was going to gain such a sweet friendship,” Grace said. that she was already “such a giant cast”, Grace admitted that it felt like “we won over people who were supposed to be there all along”.
Becoming a superhero is not easy. The 26 year old player Autumn the actress has done taekwondo and kickboxing before Fury of the gods. Grace is a trained ballerina and says, “Taekwondo has really helped me get out of the softness and get a little bit more strength and awareness in my body, as well as with kickboxing. It really helped me get in touch with my physical power and the power of my limbs and legs. I think it helped me stand a little taller, stronger, and sturdier instead of that kind of wavy, floaty ballet.

There have been a lot of changes in the world of DC Studios after james gunn And Saffron Stone took over, leaving the fate of several DC projects uncertain. HollywoodLife asked Grace if Shazam! Fury of the gods leaves the possibility of revisiting these characters in the future.
“After seeing the film, I was really excited about this deeper look at the Shazam! world, and I couldn’t help but think it’s such a rich playground,” she said. “It just filled me with wonder. I really felt the wonder that I would feel watching jurassic park Or Harry Potter When I was small. I think we have a lot to play with, and it’s always fun to talk about those things before people see them. I’m dying for people to see it because I think they’ll feel the same. Shazam! Fury of the gods hits theaters on March 17.
