At South By Southwest, Music From Ireland will be advocating for St Patrick’s Day to be transformed into a two-day festival that celebrates all things Irish. The organization will be taking part in the SXSW Music Festival on March 16 at The Velveeta Room, setting up an official showcase that will introduce fans in Austin, Texas to a collection of dynamic acts hailing from the Emerald Isle. The following day, March 17, Music From Ireland will host a full Irish breakfast at the SXSW showcase at The Dead Rabbit, bringing you not one, but two chance to see the best that Ireland has to offer.
Starting things Thursday at 8 p.m. est M(h)aol, an intersectional five-piece that “challenges the male-dominated climate of the post-punk genre,” according to their website. The band – who released their debut album, gender studiesin 2022 — created buzz with tours across Europe and supporting Shellac on their Irish tour dates. At 9 pm, modern love will bring their indie-pop anthems to the stage at Velveeta Hall, wowing audiences with their heartfelt, heartfelt and honest songs.
