Matt Blankinship becomes the face of the neighbor Survivor show ! The 27-year-old admittedly catches feelings for his fellow tribesman Frannie Marin on the Fiji Islands in season 44. Matt and Frannie’s flirtatious relationship could make them a big target at the next Tribal Council, since their fellow tribesmen are already noticing how close they are. Matt is from California.
Matt is originally from Albany, CA, but now lives in San Francisco, CA.
He went to Oberlin College.
In 2013, Matt moved from California to Ohio to attend Oberlin College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was also a tour guide on the school’s campus, according to his LinkedIn.
He’s a security software engineer.
Matt has worked as a security software engineer at Google since January 2019. He works out of the company’s office in San Francisco. He previously worked at Amazon from July 2017 to November 2018, his LinkedIn reveals.

He is passionate about music.
In college, Matt joined the Oberlin College Taiko percussion ensemble, according to an interview he did with the college. He also revealed that he created a comedic folk music duet with one of his friends at Oberlin. Matt said he “had so much fun making music” in college.
Matt was newly single before ‘Survivor’.
Matt opened up about his relationship status on Survivor 44. “Going into that game. I was in a very vulnerable state,” he said in a confessional. “I recently got out of a relationship that meant the world to me. I wanted to be able to put that behind, but you bring it into the game,” he added. Luckily, Matt found a strong bond with Frannie that helped him get over his breakup.
