Chilli is not refusing to have children with her boyfriend Matthew Lawrence, but she must first be married.
Speaking on radio show ‘Ryan Cameron Uncensored’ on Friday, the TLC singer simply said “you never know” if she would want to have kids with the ‘Boy Meets World’ actor.
“I would never say that [I’m done with families]“, she added after bursting into a nervous laugh.
The singer, 52, also made it clear that she wanted to get married before starting a family. However, it looks like it could also happen in the near future.
“I must be married for sure…and I’m not married, Againshe said cheekily.
Chilli’s family plans with her boyfriend come after Lawrence, 43, told ‘Entertainment Tonight’ earlier this month that he and Chilli had a “game plan” for starting a family.
However, on the radio show, the singer clarified that his comments were taken out of context and that he was talking about his older brother Joey Lawrence’s family plans instead of their own.
“They didn’t show that part, but when you go there and see the whole interview, you see he wasn’t talking about us working to have a baby…because that’s not what’s going on. happening,” the singer — who already shares son Tron, 25, with ex Dallas Austin — said.
Matthew also clarified his initial comments, telling E! News, “Joe and I sympathize about this plan that we were to have kids together…when we were growing up. And I missed the first round and now he’s starting a new family and I was like, ‘Man, it would be great if we could do it again when I haven’t had the chance to raise a family together.’
“So that’s what I meant by that,” he continued. “I didn’t want to put pressure on anyone I was dating or anything.”
Despite the confusion, the “Boy Meets World” alum continued to gushed about his leading lady, who he says would make an “amazing” life partner.
“She’s an amazing person,” the actor said. “She is already a mother, she has an incredible son. I respect the way she raised him so much. She would be an amazing mother again and I would be incredibly lucky, but that’s how it is in the future.”

The “Waterfalls” singer confirmed she was dating Lawrence in January, nearly five months after first sparking romance rumors.
Prior to his relationship with Chilli — whose real name is Rozonda Thomas — Lawrence was married to Cheryl Burke. The former couple were married for three years before finalizing their divorce in September 2022.
Despite their split, Burke supported her ex after hearing he hoped to start a family.
“I really, really hope he can have a kid with Chilli,” she said on an episode of “The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever Starring Chris Harrison.”
In fact, the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alum said she wasn’t “surprised” by the revelation because the actor “always wanted” to be a father.
